Reynolds Cup
The Reynolds Cup
The Reynolds Cup is a biennial round-robin competition held by the Clay Minerals Society for quantitative mineralogical analysis on clay-bearing type samples.
Thanks to the continuing improvements in our methodologies, commitment to research and investment in state-of-the-art instrumentation, we are delighted to announce our 2nd consecutive top 10 placement, coming in 9th in 2020.
These excellent results have been achieved using only X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy (ICP).
- Top 10 lab in the Reynolds Cup
- Consistent quantitative mineralogy data
-
Weekly validation of 4 diffractometers
- Most minerals quantified within 2 wt.% absolute error
The table below illustrates our results in the hydrothermally altered shale.
The 2020 competition comprised 97 participants from 23 countries, including independent companies, universities and other research bodies, of which 76 of the participants returned the results.
