Analytical Workflows

Analytical workflows

For the last 20 years X-ray Mineral Services has built a reputation for producing research grade routine mineralogical and geochemical data for geomaterials across a wide range of industrial sectors. Our results are benchmarked to International standards to ensure data QA for clients operating a wide range of applications, from small scale one off testing through to long term industrial projects, where data continuity is critical.

  • Research grade routine mineralogical and geochemical data
  • Cutting edge innovation
  • Results are benchmarked to International standards

In addition to acting as a routine testing laboratory X-ray Mineral Services invests in cutting edge innovation and has developed a large number of case studies for comprehensive geo-materials characterisation based on mineralogical and geochemical data. As a result, we can offer a wide range of proven analytical protocols for a large number of commercial applications such as for bricks, tiles, slates, phosphates, aggregates, battery minerals, rare earths and ore deposits. Our highly experienced staff are constantly innovating new analytical protocols for materials characterisation and to improve commercial viability. As we strive to develop new analytical workflows it is critical that data quality is maintained and this is ensured by the development of new reference materials to ensure that the results from innovative technologies can be cross validated with established instrumentation.

X-ray Mineral Services is also pioneering a new approach to geomaterials characterisation based on the acquisition and integration of multidisciplinary data that focuses on the Mineralogy, Elemental concentrations, the Texture of the rocks, mineral, metal and the material under investigation and the combined data are subjected to detailed analysis and integration in Spotfire data visualisation and Analytics software (META). This innovative workflow combines the flexibility of ‘gold standard’ laboratory based technology for comprehensive characterisation along with optimised analytical solutions for time sensitive decision making or large scale mapping projects based on the deployment of calibrated portable equipment.
