Analytical Integration

Analytical Integration

X-ray Mineral Services provides a comprehensive characterisation dataset for geo-materials. We provide results calibrated to standard reference materials to confirm analytical performance, assess analytical interferences and optimise data precision and accuracy.

Often materials are poorly characterised prior to analysis and we can build bespoke calibrations using a well-established workflow.

  • Bespoke data Quality Assurance
  • Cross validational analytical data modelling
  • Spotfire® data visualisation
  • Statistical modelling
  • Data mining and machine learning

X-ray Mineral Services advocate that cross validational data is acquired from a series of META1 instrumentation. This may include XRF and ICP or XRD and FTIR, or Automated Mineralogy (SEM-EDX)® and Raman or other combinations. Results from all of these analyses can be combined into a Spotfire® database for detailed modelling.

We can provide clients with a new data visualisation dashboard and modelling services. Legacy and new data can be integrated in Spotfire® and bespoke coding can enable clients to tailor data presentation for specific applications. Recent case studies include the integration of XRF, ICP, XRD andAutomated Mineralogy (SEM-EDX)® data to simulate and optimise the mineral processing stages in a polymetallic (Au, Co) mine and highlight the efficiency of Pt and Pd recovery from various ore grades as part of the BATCircle 1 battery minerals project.

In addition to data visualisation, we have the capability to subject data to an array of statistical modelling and machine learning techniques.

Characterisation of battery black mass

Characterisation of battery black mass

The composition of the black mass was determined by x-ray diffraction, with SEM automated mineralogy (AMICS) used to produce compositional maps, textural attributes and metal deportment.
