X-ray Mineral Services recently conducted comprehensive analytical work for the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) as part of the BATCircle project.
X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques were applied as part of a geometallurgical orientation study for Suhanko Arctic Platinum’s Konttijärvi deposit.
Our META (Minerals, Elements, Texture and Analysis ) service is a comprehensive materials characterization workflow. In this study XMS conducted mineralogical and elemental characterization for GTK.
Bulk mineralogy was determined by XRD and quantification of mineralogy was completed using the Rietveld method with Autoquan software, with most minerals quantified within 2 wt.% absolute error. Bulk elemental data was acquired by WD-XRF and ED-XRF
The analysis results were subject to rigorous QA/QC and cross-validated with data from other analytical techniques. The results were used in ore characterization and evaluation of suitable processing options from the Konttijärvi deposit.
